Who can list on Private Cars
Private Cars is built exclusively for verified private owners selling their own personal vehicles. Listings from any of the following are prohibited:
- Franchised dealerships
- Independent used-car dealers
- Wholesale brokers and auction flippers
- Commercial resellers and curbstoners
- Anyone selling on behalf of a business inventory
How we enforce it
We combine identity verification, title-ownership verification, behavioral analysis (number of listings, language patterns, image patterns), and manual review of every submission. Listings that fail these checks are rejected, and accounts associated with dealer behavior are permanently banned.
Reporting
If you believe a listing is from a dealer, broker, or commercial reseller, use the Report Listing button. Every report is reviewed within 24 hours.
